Dr. Ram's research program aims to harness the power of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine (TERM) to improve the lives of those affected by musculoskeletal diseases, trauma, and aging. Their work focuses on understanding the role of immune cells, senescent cells, and matrix mechanics in tissue regeneration and using engineering techniques to develop innovative strategies for tissue restoration. This includes developing biomaterials to regulate immune responses, studying the impact of soft matrix mechanics on immune cells, and creating immune-responsive delivery systems for tissue regeneration.
